Winemaker Dinners

Our passion for the wines of Argentina is second to none. Not content with the offer of over 150 wines to our restaurant customers, we have extended our love of Argentine wine for our customers to take home and enjoy.

Meet The Winemaker Dinners at Gaucho

Throughout the month of September Gaucho will be hosting a series of meet the winemaker dinners exclusively for Club G members. In partnership with three of our favourite Argentine Vineyards, Gaucho's director of wine Phil Crozier will take you on an anecdotal journey of altitude and terroir, exquisitely matched to some signature Gaucho dishes.

Sonvida at Gaucho Chancery

Gaucho, Chancery Lane
£70 RSVP to Hollie at Gaucho Chancery

David Smith, journalist, turned diplomat, turned winemaker, owner of SonVida, one of our Super Malbecs from Altamira in Mendoza, will be hosting a wine dinner at our Gaucho Chancery.

David has a very unique take on the trials and tribulations, highs and lows, of the wine business. He and his Argentine wife bought a farmer's field, planted a vineyard, and have produced a wine that afficionados love -- 'SonVida is a wine worth looking out for,' according to Jancis Robinson, 'the velvety seduction of high-altitude Malbec.' It's all in a book that David wrote a few months back, title 'Dream On'.

For 25 years David was chief Foreign Correspondent for ITN, being one of the founders of Channel Four News, and the programme's award-winning Bureau Chief in Moscow and Washington DC. Since leaving journalism, he has represented the UN, as an adviser to the Secretary-General. He spends his time between Buenos Aires and Mendoza.
