If there is one thing that I've learnt about Argentineans since going to Gauchos, its that Argentineans adore meat. Just like me. Quite passionately in fact. I like meat a lot, especially steal, and Gauchos has a lot of that.
So I was unashamedly contemplating the mouth - watering prospect of an evening meal here with my other half, who unfortunately doesn't have the same raw love for things meaty. The cowhide backed chairs, sleek design and lovely atmosphere helped. I thought it a first - rate idea that I was allowed to choose from the different cuts of meat, brought to my table in their raw state. I chose a 400gram Bife de Lomo which is a fillet steak, but there was a choice of sirloin, rump or rib-eye. For £31 you can have a taste of all four cuts on one plate. I chose not to have a sauce but there are a number of them on the menu, from Bearnaise to peppercorn. My partner chose the organic salmon as fish and chicken are also plentiful. Wine is expensive, glance at the online menu before you go, but prepare yourself first.
We shared a cheese platter for dessert and I made a mental note that I would come again, grab a Gaucho steak sandwich for £14.50 at the bar and make use of the free in - house WiFi during my lunch hour.
