Warning: animals were harmed in the creation of Gaucho. Cowhides are everywhere – but then again, they sit comfortably with the best steak in London.

The black, white and glass interior of the Piccadilly branch strikes a classy, note. Incorporating the Cavas de Gaucho (a wine boutique-cum-private dining room), bar, restaurant and the recently unveiled Supper Club, hosting live Latino music.
What to eat: Beef. Steaks are Gaucho’s raison d’être- the fillet (bife de lomo) is butter-knife tender and the rib eye offers full-fat flavour.
What to drink: Sommelier Phil Crozier knows Argentinian wines: he suggests the Luigi Bosca Reserva Malbec.
